Dr. Gök received her B.A. from the School of Education at Ankara University with a double major in Educational Administration and Planning, Policy and Educational Psychology in 1970. She received her M.A., M.Phil.., and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University.She worked at the Planning, Research and Coordination Department in the Turkish Ministry of Education. She joined Boğaziçi University, Department of Educational Sciences in 1987, where she has been a full-time faculty member since then. Dr. Gök worked as a research associate in the fall of 1992 and the spring of 1993 at the Five College Women Studies Research Center at Mount Holyoke College, USA. Currently she is a member of the Faculty Executive Council, and also the Faculty Representative at the University Senate.
